01 · PROJECT BACKGROUND

Bluebird mascot costume used as a reference for the custom bronze sculpture project in Little Rock, Arkansas.
A custom bronze sculpture made for a real place
This project was created for our client in Little Rock, Arkansas. The sculptures were intended for an outdoor setting, so the final work needed to achieve two things at the same time: a natural and attractive appearance, and a durable finish suitable for long-term outdoor display.
For a custom animal sculpture, the overall silhouette is only part of the result. The posture, proportions, feather texture, transitions between surfaces and final patina all affect whether the finished sculpture feels convincing when viewed in a real landscape.

02 · DESIGN & CONFIRMATION

Confirming the form before final production
Before a custom sculpture enters the final casting stage, we pay close attention to the overall form and the details that will remain visible after the bronze surface is finished. This is especially important for bird sculptures, where feather texture can easily become either too flat or unnecessarily exaggerated.
During the project, the sculpture was reviewed before final production so that adjustments could be made while changes were still practical. This confirmation stage reduces uncertainty and gives the client a clear view of what is being manufactured.

03 · BRONZE CASTING

Turning the approved sculpture into bronze
After the sculpture form was confirmed, the project moved into bronze production. The casting stage is followed by assembly, welding, chasing and surface refinement. These steps are critical because the finished sculpture should read as one continuous work rather than a collection of individually cast sections.
After welding, our craftsmen refine the seams and restore surface textures around the joined areas. Small details are checked again before the patina stage begins.

04 · PATINA & SURFACE FINISH

A finish designed for both appearance and outdoor use
Patina is one of the most important stages in a bronze sculpture project. It determines not only the color but also how clearly the sculpted texture remains visible under changing natural light.
For outdoor sculpture, we aim for a finish that complements the subject while remaining practical for exterior display. After the color is completed, the surface is protected before packing and shipment.

05 · QUALITY INSPECTION

Final factory inspection of the completed bronze bluebird sculpture and custom bench before shipment.
The finished sculptures were reviewed before shipping
Before packing, we checked the finished sculptures for overall appearance, surface condition and visible details. Final photographs were taken so the completed work could be reviewed before it left our factory.
For an overseas custom project, this final inspection is particularly important. Once the sculpture enters international transportation, making changes becomes difficult and expensive, so issues are better identified while the work is still at the factory.

06 · EXPORT PACKING

Protecting the sculptures for international transportation
A successful sculpture project does not end when production is finished. The work still has to arrive safely. Before shipment, the sculptures are protected and secured for international transportation so that unnecessary movement and surface contact are minimized during handling and transit.
For overseas projects, we treat export packing as part of the manufacturing process rather than an afterthought. The packing method is selected according to the sculpture’s form, projecting details and transportation requirements.

07 · SHIPPING TO THE UNITED STATES

Export crates containing the custom bronze bluebird sculptures safely arrived at the U.S. destination warehouse.
From our workshop in China to Little Rock, Arkansas
After packing, the sculptures entered the international shipping process and were transported from China to the United States. The project was ultimately delivered to Little Rock, Arkansas.
International logistics can be a major concern for clients purchasing large or heavy artwork from overseas. Our role therefore extends beyond manufacturing: we also coordinate the export side of the shipment and keep the client informed as the order moves toward final delivery.

08 · FINAL RESULT

The sculptures in their real outdoor environment
The most meaningful photographs from a custom sculpture project are often not the ones taken in the factory. They are the photographs taken after the work has arrived and become part of the client’s actual environment.
After delivery, Greg shared photographs of the bronze bluebirds at the site. These images give future clients a much more realistic understanding of how a custom bronze sculpture looks after it leaves the workshop and enters its final setting.

10 · OUTDOOR BRONZE MAINTENANCE

Simple maintenance for long-term outdoor display
For this project, we recommended simple periodic maintenance rather than aggressive polishing. A thin coat of ordinary automotive wax can be applied approximately every 3–6 months using a soft cloth or soft brush.
The purpose is to add a light protective layer to the existing bronze finish. Heavy polishing is unnecessary because it can change the appearance of the patina that gives the sculpture its character.

11 · WHAT THIS PROJECT SHOWS

Completed custom bronze bluebird sculptures with personalized benches at the Yun Sculpture factory before shipment to Arkansas.
More than producing a bronze object

For us, a successful overseas sculpture project is not simply about casting bronze. It includes understanding the client’s intention, controlling the form and details, completing the finish, checking the work before shipment, packing it securely and helping the order reach its destination.

This project also shows why real completed projects matter. Clients considering a custom sculpture can see not only a factory product photograph, but the complete path from production in China to the sculpture’s final environment in the United States.
