A: Black marble is beautiful but can show scratches if not cared for. However, for a vertical fireplace surround, it rarely gets touched or scratched. We seal it to enhance the black color and white veins.

A: Yes. For modern homes, we often recommend a Honed (Matte) finish instead of Polished. It gives the stone a soft, sophisticated, and non-reflective look.
