Custom Stone Door Surrounds & Entryways
Your front door is the face of your home.
A plain door is boring. A door with a stone door surround is a statement.
It says “Welcome.” It says “Luxury.”
In Europe, every grand house has a stone frame around the door. Now, you can have one too.
At Yun Sculpture, we create carved stone doorways.
We do not use foam or fake plastic. We use Natural Marble and Limestone.
Whether you want a simple frame or a complex royal entrance, we carve it by hand.

You will see “Cast Stone” or “Precast” online.

Cast Stone is just concrete. It is cement poured into a mold.
- It absorbs water.
- It cracks in winter.
- It looks fake up close.
We use Natural Stone.
- Natural stone door surrounds are solid rock.
- They are cut from the mountain.
- They last for hundreds of years.
- The details are sharp and crisp.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: How do I measure my door for a stone surround?
A: We need the width and height of your door opening (the rough opening). Also, tell us how wide you want the stone frame (jambs) to be. We will create a CAD drawing to ensure the stone entry fits perfectly.
Q3: What stones are best for door surrounds?
A: Limestone is the most popular because it has a warm, matte texture that looks like an antique European castle. White Marble is best for formal, grand entrances.
Q5: Is it heavy? Does my wall need support?
A: Yes, stone is heavy. Your builder needs to ensure the wall framing can support the weight of the stone door frame, or use mechanical anchors to tie the stone to the structure.
Q7: Can I install this on a wood-frame house?
A: Yes, but you need a masonry veneer or proper flashing and anchors. Consult your contractor. Our stone architectural elements can be applied to brick, stucco, or wood structures with proper prep.
Q2: Can you make an arched door surround?
A: Yes. We specialize in arched stone doorways. We need the radius of the arch to cut the stone segments precisely. This is very popular for French Country and Mediterranean style homes.
Q4: Can you include statues or carvings in the doorway?
A: Yes. We can carve Caryatids (female figures acting as columns) or floral reliefs into the header. A hand-carved stone portal makes a massive statement.
Q6: Do you make matching window surrounds?
A: Yes. To complete the look of your facade, we can create stone window sills and trims that match the profile of your front door surround.
Q8: Does the stone stain?
A: Natural stone is porous. We recommend applying a penetrating sealer after installation to protect your limestone entryway from rain, dirt, and oil stains.
