Q1: Will the rust turn the fountain water orange?
A: In the first few weeks, yes, the water may get slightly discolored as the steel reacts. However, once the “patina” layer forms and hardens, the water runs clear. We recommend changing the water frequently during the first month or ordering our pre-rusted service.
Q3: Does the fountain come with a pump?
A: We can supply the pump for an additional cost, or you can buy a standard pump locally (which is easier for voltage/plug compatibility). We provide all the necessary piping and connection points inside the water feature.
Q5: Can you make a “Rain Curtain” fountain?
A: Yes. We fabricate large rectangular frames where water drips down from the top bar, creating a rain curtain effect. The sound of the water hitting the rusty steel reservoir is very soothing.
Q7: Can you make a Water Table with LED lights?
A: Yes. We can install LED lights at the water spout source. At night, the bubbling water glows against the dark orange steel, creating a modern luxury vibe.
Q2: Will the water rust through the steel?
A: No. Corten steel is designed to withstand wet/dry cycles. The surface rust protects the inner metal. A Corten water bowl or water table will last for many years without leaking.
Q4: How deep are the water bowls?
A: Our standard Corten water bowls are usually 20cm to 40cm deep, but we can customize the depth. Shallow bowls are great for birdbaths; deeper ones can hold water lilies.
Q6: Do I need to drain it in winter?
A: Yes. Like any outdoor fountain, if you live in a freezing climate, you must drain the water to prevent ice from expanding and damaging the welding seams or the pump.
Q8: Are the water features loud?
A: It depends on the design. A water table with a gentle overflow is very quiet. A fountain with jets creates more sound. We can adjust the design to fit your preference for noise level.
