Donghui Zhang

Zhang Donghui leads Yun Sculpture in Quyang, China, a region with a long tradition of stone carving. A second-generation sculptor with more than 20 years of hands-on experience, he brings a workshop perspective to articles about sculpture, garden features, and custom fabrication. His writing explores the decisions behind a finished piece: how materials affect appearance and maintenance, how modeling and surface finishing shape its character, and what buyers should clarify about fabrication, packing, and delivery. He connects artistic choices with practical production considerations, helping readers understand what to look for, which questions to ask, and which details need confirmation for their own project. Through his articles, Donghui aims to make custom sculpture easier to understand—from interpreting a reference image to discussing the details with a manufacturer.
